MY STORY … Navigating Life’s Wild Ride to Wellness
My life has taken many twists & turns encountering many bumps and bruises on the way. On this journey I found my true north, my passion and calling. I went from being a party hard girl who worked as a senior commercial analysist in the corporate world to a Naturopath health nerd, Talk about a 180-degree transformation, right?
Now, how did I end up in the world of Naturopathy, you ask? Well, let’s blame it on my rebellious lifestyle choices! I didn’t even know what a Naturopath was until a friend gave me the nudge. Little did I know that this would become one of the most pivotal decisions of my life. Not only did my health do a happy dance, but my whole perspective on life changed, and my career took a thrilling detour.
After celebrating the healthy birth of my first child while hustling through my final year of naturopathic school, life threw me another curveball—multiple miscarriages. The heartache, frustration, and emotional rollercoaster were enough to make anyone want to throw in the towel.
At this point my Naturopathic brain and determination would not let me give up. To me there is always a reason, it is just a matter of finding it. And find it I did, being blessed with my healthy second baby.
Being a Naturopath is not just a job to me, it is who I am. I consider myself lucky to be able to make a positive impact on people’s lives every single day. I have a special passion for Women’s reproductive health and fertility. I find women’s health issues are often misunderstood and brushed aside or masked with quick fixes. Women’s bodies are intricate, and they dance through hormonal changes throughout life—puberty, menstruation, motherhood, menopause and beyond. I consider it an honor and a privilege to walk alongside them throughout these often challenging transitions.
In my practice, I’m all about education. I want you to understand the “why” behind your health challenges, presented in a way that’s as clear. I believe in meeting you where you are at and implementing manageable, practical changes over time. Change is never easy but when you understand why things are the way they are it makes it much easier to engage with change.
I often get asked questions like – what can I take for my sleep or what’s good for stress? Here’s the thing: Our bodies are influenced by everything they encounter – sleep, stress, diet, relationships, jobs etc … It is only by looking at the whole picture that we can devise a solution, there is no one size fits all around here. AND never fear my analyst skills are still here and put to very good use through deciphering my patients’ blood test results alongside their symptoms – that is where the real detective work comes in. I still love my numbers! Through our digging we find your root cause.
I look forward to meeting you where ever you are on your journey through life. Let’s navigate those twists, turns, bumps, and bruises together, and make this rollercoaster ride a lot more fun and fabulous!
